Premiere: Odette – Likey Like [Metafloor Records]

Starting 2023 in style, Dutch producer Odette steps up to the plate for the latest instalment on Metafloor Records. The EP features three original tracks and a remix from London based producer Ollie Rant. Title track “Break That” kicks things off with a deep, subby bassline and a tastefully worked vocal hook. The track progresses to reveal a range of eerie noises and stripped back breakdowns before cutting back into the main drop with a vengeance. Perfect for bringing up those dancefloors. Guaranteed to get you on your feet. “Likey like” is another upbeat number with an equally infectious vocal hook and a rich collection of shuffly drums and skippy hats. The groovy, low-slung bassline rounds off this stellar effort that is destined to shake dancefloors everywhere as we out of the cold winter months. “Lost in playing” rounds of the package building from a deceptively simply bassline, and adding various audible layers as the track develops. We’re treated to a mesmerizing and vibey lead riff with some well worked interplay between the hard-hitting drums, bongos and low-end percussion. This one will take you on a journey deep into the late-night hours. Ollie Rant puts a garage spin on “Likey like” with a two step remix which brings some moody UK energy to a resoundingly solid offering from the Dutch export.
