Premiere: Stefano Crabuzza & Davide Marsala – Vega [Sound D’Elite]
Stefano Crabuzza’s name has been bubbling up in the Italian underground scene for some time, with his recent track
‘T ugudugu’ via Glasgow Underground catching the attention of label boss Ilario Alicante’ earlier this year, followed by his
Denniz Cruz-supported release; ‘Deeper’ via MÜSE. Operating in similar spaces, Davide Marsala’s repertoire boasts
releases on the likes of Nervous, Issues, and Encasa, earning him support from heavyweights like The Martinez Brothers
and Cloonee. Uniting for the first time on Sound D’Elite, the fellow countrymen explore new sonic territories in ‘Vega’
,
delving into deep, moody, and futuristic grooves.
The title track ‘Vega’ sets the tone, casting a minimal melody to start, with distant introspective harmonies echoing
atmospherically across the pulsing soundscape. Next up,
‘Invisible’ offers warping samples on the subject of love,
blending bubbling, off-kilter sound effects with a driving, focused rhythm. Closing out the EP ,
‘Human’ follows the
same tone, adding choppy layers and robotic vocals that build toward a rising crescendo and thumping bassline.
