Premiere: atish – Birdland (Zone+ Remix) [Manjumasi]

he sixth vinyl release from Manjumasi is a proper dance floor offering from label co-founder atish, featuring two originals built around smoky samples that evoke the basement club vibes of yesteryear.

First up is He’s Gone with an irresistible vocal and a hooky groove. Second is title track Birdland with a warped sax sample carrying the track onwards. On the B-side are a pair of groove-forward remixes of Birdland.

Steve O’Sullivan offers up a dubby minimal interpretation that takes the tune’s elements in a more hypnotic direction.

Zone+ explores a floatier melodic realm, letting the saxophone waft above a bouncy rubber bassline.
