Premiere: Shahar & Motum – Take Some Time [VIVa MUSiC]
New York-based duo Shahar and Motum combine on VIVa MUSiC as they drop their four-track ‘Take Some Time’ EP.
Israeli-born, New York-based pairing Shahar and Motum are two names now embedded within the Big Apple’s electronic music landscape. Holding down residencies and making regular appearances across the city’s finest venues including Output, Pacha NYC, and Cielo, the pair have established themselves as DJs of note within its rich scene whilst also releasing productions via the likes of Nervous, Culprit, and Inmotion Music – gaining support from Guy Gerber and Danny Tenaglia. Up next, the two talents re-unite once again as they head to Steve Lawler’s renowned VIVa MUSiC imprint to deliver their latest EP, ‘Take Some Time’.
Title cut ‘Take Some Time’ reveals a wealth of slick, organic percussion backed by bubbling acid-tinged leads and warping low-ends, whilst ‘Slippin’ sees the introduction of heady drums, slinking funk-fuelled basslines, and soulful vocals throughout. Next, the two combine alongside multifaceted artist Vanjee for the hypnotic, raw grooves of drum workout ‘Moonwalker’, before closing proceedings with ‘Pleasures’ – a lively, bright, and energetic production that welcomes a final collaboration alongside Argentinian-born, NYC-raised DJ and producer Patrick Grooves.
