Premiere: Ronnie Spiteri – Musical Minds [Kenja Records]

Ronnie Spiteri’s Kenja Records returns with another bold release from the label head himself. Featuring a jackin’, bassline fuelled remix from the mighty Darius Syrossian
Ronnie opens with ‘Musical Minds’, a deep, rolling terrace cut that blends swathes of swinging percussion with fierce, punchy kicks and nethermost sub basslines. Fat stabbing piano hooks echo across the shimmering rides and soulful vocal leads.

‘Soul Finder’ sees Spiteri experimenting with expressive, octave jumping basslines that glide with ease through his assembly of splashy drum tops and intricate snare fills. Through the other side of a truly monolithic breakdown, we’re back into his fusion of footwork provoking drums and subtle vocal stabs.

Darius Syrossian strips back the fat, housey grooves of ‘Soul Finder’, exposing the raw, exposed layers for their true strength. Enormous tuned kicks roll out metrically with jackin’ hats and snares, time-stretched vocals and glitched out stabs throughout the breakdown. A monumental triptych of fiery club cuts from Kenja Records.

Ronnie Spiteri has had a super busy year. He has released on labels such as Knee Deep In Sound, We Are The Brave, Tronic and Stereo Productions in recent months and there is no sign of him stopping anytime soon! Kenja Records is his imprint, established back in 2015 with a busy release schedule for the rest of 2020 and 2021 full of killer cuts and key artists.
